How much of a percentage should I take out of my paychecks if I start on retirement funds and housing ?

I have a summer co-op that gives me $240 every 2 weeks. Payment for college is already taken care off but I have 2 years left. I want to make sure I get a head start on retirement funds and housing when I get out. How much of a percentage should I take out of my paychecks if I start now? Does anyone know about retirement, housing and gaining citizenship for a 70 year old?

I have a male relative who is 70 years old, he is a 5 year permanent resident , has been working here for 10 years, still employed, just applied for U.S. citizenship last month. He is concerned that receiving housing aid from the H.U.D. program will interfere with being approved as a citizen after his approaching interview with immigration. He does not think that they will like the fact that he needs to rely on a service that aids those who are unable to handle the cost of paying market rent,( although in reality this is really the fault of those who set the rental costs, not his fault.) Has anyone had an experience, or known anyone with a similar experience having been approved or not approved for citizenship based solely on the fact that they require assistance with their living expenses? He has been receiving social security for 8 months now, as he had reached the work qualification for it , but not very much though, because of the length of time working here has only been 10 years.
